Lionel Messi was expected to be today's World Cup game hero against Nigeria, however the single game goal was made by Gabriel Heinze, resulting in a win by Argentina over Nigeria of 1-0.

World Cup 2010

Diego Maradona, the coach for Argentina, attracts almost as much attention as the players with his sideline antics and ranting on the field sidelines.

Heinze scored in the sixth minute of the game, however Nigerian's Vincent Enyeama kept the goal locked up tight for the rest of the game. Enyeama was named man of the match, and Maradona congratulated him for his important saves in the game.

Lionel Messi, expected to be the highlight hero of the game, made some eye catching moves on the field forcing multiple saves from Enyeama, but the one score of the game belongs to Heinze. Even so, Messi managed to keep Enyeama busy throughout the game.

The game was close, and Nigeria put up a good fight.

Argentina joins South Korea for a win today; South Korea defeated Greece 2-0 today in Port Elizabeth.  Later today, England will compete against the U.S.
